Another great 'Beach' inspired layout....... this time from

Dale Tiernan - Beach

Hi Shazza,

I've completed my layout for The Beach. I have painted my background paper to imitate the painting. I also have 3 young girls to replicate the 3 ladies in the image. The one on the right is me. I've used bubble wrap and ink to represent the rocks on Cottesloe Beach where we are swimming. I have the seagulls too but couldn't manage a beach towel.

Kind regards, Dale

Well done Dale! Great idea to paint your background paper and I love the way your bubble wrap and inkig came out and it looks great behind the title. I love the way you also threaded wool or twine through your title. Love the photos you usedof your you and your friends too. Your seagulls look terrific! - Cheers Shazza

Ooh! A perfectly beautiful entry! lol I love this to bits Tiffany. What a great snap shot of the girls together on the beach. I love the added mirror (Left hand top) and all your added shells too. I love the soft pastel colors you used and the added organza flowers across the middle was a beautiful touch. Well done! - Cheers Shazza

Here is another great entry......

Vicky Hyninck - Fun in the Sun

Hey Shazza,
This one was a bit difficult apparently, it took me 6 days to make this LO, it hasn't turned out the way I thought it would be, but I'm relatively happy with it, altough it is a totaly different style.
I know, my details are up for much more finishing, but everyone has to learn right??????
Thanks for the challenge, they stimulate me to cross my borders.
big hug, hear you soon,
Vicky

Hey Vicky!
How clever are you with this fancy entry.......Love what you have done here. I would be very happy with it! I love your soaring seagull and little added sandcastle. I love how you added the cut out figures too. You have done an excellent job of the challenge........I'II pass on the sunscreen lol Great work - Cheers Shazza

Saturday 6 November 2010

Here ia a great take on the challenge from.......

Len Schreijenberg - Beach Baby's

Hi Shazza,
Hereby my entry for the "beach" challenge.
I used a backgroundpaper with a picture of a beach on it, let the horizon of the backgroundpaper and of my picture be on the same level.
I printed a huge sandcastle on another photopaper of a beach and cut it out.
The seaguls are only glued in the middle so it gives the idea that they're flying off of the page.
Finally I handstiched the red border and put the title on. That title is outlined with puffy paint.
Oh... the kids on the pic are my kids Carmen and Liam when they were very little...
XOXO, Lena

Brilliant Lena! I just love the huge sandcastle you used, great how you got everything into perspective. your two little kids on the beach playing just goes so well with the background pp. Love your seagulls too. That chain stitching is awesome and gives the page a framed look. Fantastic work this month, well done - Cheers Shazza

Friday 5 November 2010

Another great 'Beach' inspired layout....... this time from

Jen Fawkes - Beach Bums

Hi Shazza, here is my entry for the Chris Wake, November challenge.
I have LOVED this picture and knew immediately what I was going to do. I have my family beach photo, lots of seagulls and my beach towel is the PP at the lower end of the layout.
I know the photos are old, but the layout was created just for this challenge
thanks,
Jen Fawkes

What a terrific take on the challenge Jen......love those 'beach bums' lol. Great added embellies, and fantastic idea of using the striped pp as your beach towel and just adore your flying seagulls. A cute memory page to keep :) Well done!! Cheers Shazza

Here is another gorgeous entry from........

Lizzy Crust - @ Brown Lake

Hi Shazza,
i have just done my layout for the november
challenge and i did enjoy it..
i took inspiration from the painting in a
few ways..
before i started i got white paint and
watered it down a bit and make circle swirls
around the cardstock similar to what is in
the painting..as well as paint drops. i
thought the girls in the photo looked a bit
wind blown so we are too in our photo as well
as there is three of us!!haha!! i also have a
few sea gulls and bucket and spade and a sand
castle!!
thanks for the challenge!!
hope you are having a great day!
love lizzy

Lizzy! Lizzy Lizzy! Such beautiful work
this month :)I'm just lovin your page with
all the little added embellishments....a real
'Beachey' page! Love your added sandcastle and
seagulls! A great bl;ack and white photo to
use aswell! Great work :)
Cheers Shazza

Here is Novembers submission from our Guest DT member....

Libeeti - Family Time

As for November challenge:
My layout is titled "Family Time". I think I've managed to cover all the diva demands : A sandcastle - done; Some seagulls - done; A family beach photo - done.
I also challenged myself to make a multiphoto layout, since I tend to scrap only 1-2 photo per layout.
I hope you'll like it.
Thank you for the inspiration, it has been a great fun making this lo.
Cheers,
Libeeti

Hi Libeeti!
Looks like you have been busy with paint and bubble wrap to make this background page. Great added sandcastle and love your seagulls. Cheers Shazza

ARTastics Guest DT member for November is........

Libeeti

Hi, I'm Libeeti from Israel. I'm a single mom of two charming and adorable boys, aged 8.5 y and 5.5 y. I'm a full working woman, who's trying to work out having a very fulfilling job, raising my boys, householding and scrapping, but always fail at one of the tasks... LOL
I discoverd my crafty creativity only a little more than a year ago. At the begining I did some altered art, then I started cardmaking. With a big encouragement of a bloggy friend, I started scrapbooking about 7 months ago, and ever since I became an addicted scrapper...
I'm still looking for what one may call "my style", but I love the vintage/shabby look very much. I tend to distress almost every page I make, and I love using acrylic paints on my layouts. I love to spread them and to stamp with them.
I'm always happy to learn new techniques and find creative ways to 'come out of my comfort zone'.
I'm grateful for the offer to be a GDT at ARTastic. I love this challenge blog and get a lot of inspiration here. Every month I look forward to see what Shazza will bring up this time, with all the divas extra criteria, which always make the wheels in my head to spin round and round. Thank you!

Here are some of Libeeti's layouts she is sharing with us..........
